1. Quote of the Quarter
Order is the shape upon which beauty depends. -Pearl Buck
2. Interesting Website to Visit
I always enjoy creativity in whatever form it takes. This website is fun! It is a compilation of self-portraits taken in front of anything that reflects---hubcaps, silverware, broken mirrors, etc. People from all over the world have posted their photos---the variety is wonderful! Take a look: Mirrorproject.com.
3. Do an End of Year Wrap-Up
- Here's a way to stay on track for the coming year:
- Review last year's calendar and make a list of accomplishments. No matter how small or large, every achievement goes on the list. It's surprising how long the list can be!
- Jot down "disappointments" for the past year and what you learned from them. Usually this list is short, and by the time you analyze what you gained from the experiences, they are no longer disappointments.
- Make a list of your desired outcomes for the coming year, by category: Health/Fitness, Social/Relationship, Career/Work, Spiritual, Emotional/Personal Growth, and Financial. Keep the list in your calendar and review it once a week to keep on track.
4. Expanded Services
My mission is to create beauty, order and harmony in the world. I am always looking for ways to grow personally and professionally so that I can better carry out my purpose.
I have completed my training to be a certified personal and professional life coach. Coaching helps you create what they want in your life. Many clients come to me because they want to be more organized. Coaching helps me empower you to create order by helping you:
- get clear on exactly the results you want
- discover what stops you from getting what you want
- create new strategies for getting there
- test the strategies
- be accountable for creating what you want
- celebrate and enjoy your accomplishments.
If you are having trouble getting and staying organized, coaching can help!
- I will be receiving my certification as a Feng Shui practitioner by the end of February 2004. Starting in March, I will be able to give Feng Shui-focused consultations to help you make your home a place of refuge beauty and harmony.
- I studied for and passed the California Board of Real Estate exam and am now a licensed Realtor. I don't plan on selling real estate, but I have teamed up with several wonderful realtors. (l will continue to do staging and leave the details to the experienced professionals!). If you would like a referral, let me know!
5. Free article: Organize and Harmonize with Feng Shui
If you would like to receive an interesting and motivating article on getting organized written by Terah Kathryn Collins of the Western School of Feng Shui, please send me an email at KitDavey@aol.com. Include the name of the article in the message box so I know what you want, and I'll send it right back to you. Sorry---I can't send out the article by snail mail!
6. Catastrophe Update
On Dec. 16 of 2002, the beautiful 350-year-old oak tree in our back yard came crashing through our roof as we slept. Most of our home was damaged and we had to move out. For the past year we have been living in a brand new home in the Emerald Hills area of Redwood City. Our Granger Way home has been substantially repaired and remodeled. It has been framed, dry walled and primed and the hardwood flooring is in. We're waiting final painting, countertops, final plumbing and electrical work. We hope to be back in our home by mid-February. Come to our open house in November and see what our yard looks like without the tree and to view all the changes we made!
7. Annual Open House and Art Sale
Our open house/art sale in November was a wonderful success---thank you for making it so! Even though we had a change of venue, we still had lots of visitors. If you couldn't make it, please plan on attending my 10th Annual Art Sale and Open House on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 1 to 5 pm! You are invited to visit our rebuilt home and garden and browse the work of local artists.
Location: 1539 Granger Way, Redwood City.
