Odds and Ends…
- Help save natural resources and stop those annoying catalogs from showing up in your mailbox! Go to www.catalogchoice.org for a free service which will stop unwanted catalogs from being delivered to you.
- Don’t throw unused or outdated medicines down the toilet or in the trash. Police and Sheriff’s office’s in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties have disposal receptacles (shaped like mailboxes), and many pharmacies will take them, too. Call 650-363-4572 for drop-off locations in San Mateo County and 408-299-7300 for Santa Clara locations.
- To recycle Styrofoam egg cartons, save up a stack and ship a box full to: Dolco Packaging, 1029 S. Columbine St., Wenatchee, WA 98801.
- If you are a crafter or scrap booker, you have to see the wonderful workstations created by “The Scrap Box Company” at www.ScrapboxUSA.com. They offer attractive and functional storage and work stations that fold into attractive pieces of furniture.
- To prevent unwanted solicitations on your cell phone, call 888-362-1222 from your cell phone and follow the prompts. The National Do Not Call list service should kick in and prevent further telemarketing calls.
Whether you’re filling a room with new furniture, redecorating a furnished space, or just want some ideas to enhance your home, you’ll get cost-effective, easy tips and useful handouts.
