Before
My client wanted to make her large family room more inviting and attractive so that her family would feel comfortable hanging out in it. She disliked the oversized coffee table and hated looking at her treadmill. The conference table served as a folding station for laundry and she knew it didn't look right. She also wanted to do something different with her accessories.
After
The coffee table made it impossible to get in to sit on the couch so we removed it. We used a footstool from another room as a temporary table until she could buy something more appropriate for the space. We also removed several pillows from the couch to make space for people to sit down. We repositioned the treadmill (out of view to the left) so it wasn't the first thing you saw as you entered the room. WE removed the table and replaced it with a smaller, antique one, along with 2 matching chairs (out of view on the right)We then went on a treasure hunt for accessories to liven up the room. She and her family like the more open, simplified and colorful look of the room and now spend loads more time hanging out in it.
