Before
My client had many antiques and family treasures and didn't know how to pull her living room together. The room contained a couch (across from the fireplace), a pair of upholstered chairs (on the right), 2 large "high boys" (flanking the fireplace) and about 6 chairs sprinkled here and there. She had accessories from many relatives. The room's focal point needs oomph and we also need to declutter!
After
We moved the upholstered chairs to the left side of the room, kept the "high boys" in place, and placed a pair of matching chairs in front of the fireplace. The room now looks more balanced. We decluttered and then re-accessorized with stronger pieces. The fireplace now looks like a true focal point and the family treasures add warmth and tradition.
